"Use Extensor Action." In other words, make sure to push club away from you with your rear hand on the back swing? Is that right? I suffer from overswinging as well.

You have the general idea. Technically, Extensor Action is a steady effort to straighten the right arm. This essentially stretches -- but doesn't move -- the Left Arm. So, it's really not a pushing on the club as much as it is an effort to stretch the Left Arm by trying to straighten the right. Of course, the right arm doesn't actually stay straight -- it bends as you go back; but, you will definitely notice more structural integrity with your triangle (of which the arms form two sides)and it most definitely helps to prevent overswinging. In fact, I think it is darn near impossible to overswing if you correctly apply Extensor Action.

Ive been working on the same thing. I try to make my backswing with "frozen" wrists. I preset just a little wrist cock and then swing back , focusing on not adding any more wrist cock. Be extra careful not to "hinge" the right wrist in a upward motion. After studying my swing on video, I found my overswing was due mostly to me hinging the club upward and not setting it more backwards against the forearm.

NO! Do not let the left shoulder push the club away. For the best use of extensor action, allow the right hand to pull the left hand to the top of the backswing.

Overswinging on the backswing is letting the radius of the left arm break down, losing ExAc and letting the shoulders control the hands.

Pull the left hand to the top, drive or drag it down into impact with pp1 and pp3.

There are too many reasons of having overswing issues..... What about focus more on the impact and the finishing hinge action and focus more on the pivot? ?????? Not sure.....

Anakin, you are having a flat swing or a upright swing at the top? If you swing is too flat and to much of an arm move then the club will go round your body and look flat too. If it is too upright you might be having a reverse tilt???

Could someone guide us what an extensor action suppose to be... if I am correct it is just a light pressure..

I am not swinging too hard, just everytime it is flat at the top with a seven iron. I would say that it is not flat and round but is upright. The less I am trying to swing, on video it is always to the top. Even with a PW.
Funny enough when I am having a balance swing every now and then, my up swing is just fine.....

Flat = shaft parallel to the ground.
