"This why you need to train your pivot"

My pivot is pretty active. I don't pull with the arms, but the pivot pulls the entire upper body. I'm just not sure if what I'm doing is what you're doing.

I tried your one arm swing tonight. Actually it was left arm swings with the right hand riding super light along. Also did some with the right hand not on the grip or left hand but sitting "next to" the left hand. (Just keeping it in the vacinity) Was getting lower trajectory and a later release. i.e. divots well after the ball. All I had time for was my eight iron. I can see it will take a couple of weeks to make it my more normal swing, but will pursue looking for the pot of gold in the end.

BTW, with the one arm I'm getting to FULL swivel after both arms straight. Maybe more than full.

As far as training your pivot, is Dave correct?

Cliff

Trajectory was low because you are allowing your whole upper body to get "ahead" of the ball. Kinda like a pull shot in the big swing. Keep your axis tilt (i know it's weird with one arm) and you'll see the height increase. Also, hard to hit the ball high with an 8 iron and the speed that 1 arm produces.

You will sense a stronger swivel and horizontal hinge which is good.

Yes to your question about dave.

How do you float load? just only get your right elbow bend to just short of 90 dergrees and your wrist cock just short of 90 degrees and shift weight left as you increase bend in your left elbow as you do that the elbow comes back to the right hip and wala you have stored your lag and are ready to release it.

Okay, last question. Which grip do you use with the pitch elbow? Does your swing incorporate float loading with the pitch elbow?

Oooops, that was two questions. :D

Cliff

any grip you want to match the ball flight you want i think a nuetral to stronger grip is more powerful at least for me it is i can hit the ball a lot harder with control with a slightly strong grip. yes i do use float loading and pitch elbow position not alot of float loading just a little because i find it a little harder to control alot of float loading and dont get any more distance gains. I strive for 90 degree right elbow bend and 90 degrees left wrist cock at the top and then increase that a little on downswing. Im goning to MD for ten todays starting tomorrow ill post a clip when i get back of my swing.

just got back from md. I personally feel like i never release the lag for a normal shot the feel for me is that i keep on swinging like that angle will never decrease but the club will come out on its own. If any one has the book the perfect golf swing 1961 by phil galvano it has some good drills probably the simplest easiest book to give somone to improve quick. While i was in md i helped a friend who had never played golf never even swung a golf club shoot a legit 110 on a 7000 yard golf course i was really pround of him. I showed him the drills that are in that book wich are also some of the same stuff i learned from mac.
