EdZ, Jim, Brian et al:

I am going to play the short course over at the Robert Trent Jones trail today.

I think my main problem is my takeaway and the resulting top of swing position. I actually am trying to take the club in a more vertical fashion. I have a tendency to take it to the inside and sometimes roll the face open.

Now I want to the clubface to 'look' at the ball for the first several feet it moves back. I think I can rerout the club to the inside easier when I am in the correct top of swing position. When I take it to the inside (since golf is a game of opposites) I throw the club the outside and all hell breaks loose.

So for now:
1.) check takeaway with the waggle
2.) focus on inside-aft quadrant
3.) grip it and rip it!

Erik...just swing the club COMFORTABLY. Whatever your swing is that day, just go with it. If for some reason you're fading everything, just play the fade. Don't try and fix it. if you're not hitting driver well. Don't keep trying, hit the 3 wood. See the trend?

Go with what you have that day and fix the stuff later. you need to get some plane lasers and really SEE and FEEL where the plane is. You might be surprised.

when i get home from this NASA trip I will invest in some plane lasers. I also home to visit Ted Fort on my home to FL in a few weeks. Thanks again, Jim.

Erik - focus on the plane of the pressure points and 'center' - your hands. Flat left wrist, feeling lag pressure move 'downplane' to both arms straight.

Oh...I forgot to mention how I actually played.

I played 18 holes on the short course (par 3's only) and I made par twice and whole bunch of bogeys, with a few ugly holes spread around (pitches bladed over the greens, shots into the water-stupid lakes-and, of course, three putts).

The last few rounds have been real ugly, and lately I've been thinning everything...even 8 irons off the tee. Ugh...this is frustrating.

Yikes I feel ur pain Erik...keep with it.

As for the audio....makes sense Brian...because if you're lined up properly...and your swing is grooved in...all you really have to think about is speed/distance or w/e. Aim is already taken care of with alignment.

That is provided you're swing is grooved in and you trust it enough to leave it alone and play.
