Is this a good feel for someone that is way across the line at the top? -

Get more UP in your takeaway. This will allow for more in as the club finishes the backswing, helping the club line up better at the top. A good sensation at the top is that your left elbow is higher than your hands.

I saw this tip and am thinking it's a misprint. ??

I don't think there's anything that can be considered a 'bad feel' if it works for the golfer. If it doesn't work for the golfer, then you might need to change.

Keep your right elbow pointing down to the ground throughout the backswing.

Keep firm grip pressure in your left pinky.

Practice in front of a full-length mirror - the best "training aid" around.

No; i tell this to goflers who are constantly LAID OFF because they have too much IN and not enough UP. Generally across the line folks are the opposite they have a lot of UP not much IN and a flyn' elbow.

I'd have to see your swing but if this DOES work for you GREAT, however i'd probably focus more on your elbow position.

I think it really depends on YOUR defintion of "A good sensation at the top is that your left elbow is higher than your hands." I think depending on YOUR definition you could get either laid off or across the line. Know what I mean?

makes sense for an extreme

Thanks ggsjpc and thanks dan I will give it a try. Jim, to be fair I didn't give enough information. I was talking about the rare case where the takeaway is inside and then momentum takes the arms into an overswing across the line. So the UP is happening too late. I will try the feel of the tip I mentioned for a better blend of IN and UP on the takeaway. Thanks guys.
