Problems with the slight push fade...

I seem to be having a lot of success with sustaining the lag with the irons, but the woods are a different story. I seem to push fade the woods a lot. When I try to rotate the left wrist, I tend to pop the ball up. Has anyone experienced the same problem?

Thanks,

Where is the ball positioned? Low point is the left shoulder socket, and for the driver, one should position the ball just behind low point. Your ball could be too far back if you are, for example, placing the ball inside the left heel.

Actually, ball position was a recommendation from someone from another site as well. As I think about it, it would certainly be difficult to move your head forward of the ball if it's off you left heel. Headed to the first tee...I'll report back!

Well, moving the ball forward certainly helped. But, interestingly enough, keeping the right elbow closer to my side on both the backswing and downswing seemed to be the biggest help.

My tendency has been to hit my irons fat and my woods with a push fade. Could moving the ball forward and keeping the right elbow closer to the side be a swing fix for these tendencies?

Thanks,

How far forward- couple of balls INSIDE of left foot? Or outside of left foot.
Have you considered playing your push fade? Once you start trying to push fade, you'll probably stop.

I'm playing the ball off my left heel. Keeping my right elbow closer to my side (not stuck to my side) has helped a lot. I've gained both distance and direction with this swing thought. Hopefully, it will last longer than 3 rounds:D!
