Putting grip for Sheriff-type stroke

Are there any key points to monitor when gripping the putter to encourage an on-plane, Sheriff-type putting stroke?

I like to use a double overlap with a neutral left hand and with the right hand turned a little strong.

It adds more in to out to my stroke. (otherwise it is too out to in...esp. cause I hit up on putts a little)

I have also found success with a slightly firm left hand. Better sense of clubface.

Just sharing what I've found.
