Lack of control of motor functions at the desired time.....
Inability to make the putter move on command...
Fear of failure, causing shame and embarassment....
On short putts, anticipating missing a putt you "know (or think you know)" you should make...
Shakey knees.....:)

Oh...sounds horrible.

I've never had that experience. I have choked over a putt now and then though.

My mantra, make a good stroke. That's all I can do. If the hole gets in the way, so much the better!
 
...it was 12 strokes including penalties for hitting the ball before it was stopped...

(you have to sound it out pho-in-et-ic-al-ee....or have seen the infinitely stupid movie FUBAR)
