Do any of you west coast guys know about the two course the finals are on? Trust me, I'm aware of the quality of play at that level, but no final round flameouts? Currently, there isnt one single guy in the top 30 that is over par today. What are they putting on, pool tables? Is the weather perfect. Just curious.

You normally see a few tragedies the last day. Frazar.....59 and 34 under thru 12? That should be some food for thought for anybody wanting to take a shot, huh?

I have played both of em. While I am certainly not at a pro level they aren't easy. The Stadium is a tough course but Nicklaus is significantly easier imo. The Stadium is a Pete Dye course with crazy !@# bunkers, lots of water in play, funky lies all over and pedestal greens. Can you tell it kills me each year????

I have never played em in the winter when they are in peak condition but I imagine the greens are pure right now. the weather is perfect as well at here in So Cal.

I'm 30 miles away and it's cool, humid and absolutely still. Not the usual conditions for those courses.

The Bob Hope

The conditions are perfect and imagine the scores in the Hope. The greens are perfect this time of year, no wind and better equipment since you played them.;)

"These guys are good"

Both courses were considered way too hard when they came online in the 80's. I've played both many times and the scoring is a testament to how friggin good these guys are.

Course set up: Perfect! Fast fairways and firm, but receptive greens. The rough is dormant Bermuda, so it is pretty playable and short this time of year.

The equipment has really been a factor. The holes that are 450+ use to be challenging. Now it's a drive and a short iron. The only thing that can rattle these guys now is blustery wind.

Don't kid yourself. The Stadium Course is still a bear and disaster lurks everywhere.

32 under on those two courses, no matter how nice the weather, is nuts. It's almost mind boggling.

If someone had told me it was going to take 19 under to get a card, I think I might have laughed out loud.

Heck...there are days when I'd be happy with a combine 19 over par over six rounds (about 3.166 over par per round....)

Geesh....
