Question about Ball Position using the Blue Plane Board

I just was wondering...If I had purchased the Blue Plane Board, where exactly would I place a ball? Or does it not even matter.

a few inches away from the board (with the board in between you and the ball)...

so that you can trace the plane board without hitting it...

i've used different "board positions"... i've used it to work on only through the ball positions... and i've used it to work on backswing and through the ball positions...

not sure if this answers your question or if it makes any sense at all...
