Question about the "S" word

During my round yesterday, something very unusual for me happened. I was hitting the ball extremely well then on 3 seperate occasions I hit 3 shanks. Of course killed the round. Every "S" happened after I hit a 300 yard drive straight down the middle.

What causes this problem so I can look for it?

Do a search in the archives for shanks. There is a lot of material (including videos) on this question.

In a nutshell:
You are lagging the hosel instead of the sweetspot and are probably underplane.
