Without going into great detail:

Big D won the British Open in shyte weather on a links course which he knew well and was played more or less in his "default" golfing conditions (he grew up in NI playing in the rain and the wind on courses which required a certain type of golf). His world ranking if ALL tournaments were played under these conditions would have been much higher.

Something similar can be said I am sure for the other "inexplicable" results. That's why some people make money betting on golf. Know what I mean bud?

Not at all. I'm not smart enough to take money off the bookies, but I'm smart enough to not give them mine.

Doesn't make them bad people. I still have fond memories of the guy who turned up at school in 1986, declared that his ouija board had told him that Argentina was going to win the World Cup, and offered odds of 100-1 on any other team.
