Gian came to see me in New Orleans for a Three-Day version of the "Manzella Special," which is a standard two day + one extra 2.5 hour session on the 3rd day.

He has been playing golf for only 5 years, an is playing college golf.

He made good contact before, but had miss tendencies consistent with his mechanics.

The after pattern is almost surely not what pattern he will wind up with over time, but THE one that I thought would fix the problems and allow for customization at a later date.

We also put in several shots from the MANZELLA SHORT GAME MATRIX, and had a lot of fun.

As you can see, we didn't stand pat.

more vertical and not around. That's..what i was working on. My video looks similar to the before and after. I'm thinking about taking a trip to see BM soon!!

Nice job Brian. I can see less start-up swivel and more Nicklaus and less Hogan at the top. The funny thing is I bet if you asked normal golf teachers which top position they prefer they would probably say the first one.

Do you think Gian needs to adjust his club lie angle more upright after the swing change?

Obviously, the backswing is better. Way less "stand up" and handsiness thru the ball as evidence of the club only laying on the plane in the thru swivel. Please do more of these Brian. Very nice to see.

:)

Nice job Brian.

Thankyouverymuch.

The ones that would say this, are, at the very least, not very good students of golf swing history.

Do you think Gian needs to adjust his club lie angle more upright after the swing change?

After a couple of weeks, he needs to get them checked.

What a change ! What backswing thoughts were given to the student to so dramatically change the plane of the backswing? It looks very SD, however, there does appear to be some twistaway as well.

Wow...I am totally confused...how is that 2nd backswing the same back swing as on the SD video? Aren't the hands supossed to work IN IN IN?

looks like both sides of tiger. the laid off, flat, arched wrist look as opposed to the steeper, higher, more ATL look. obvious to me which works better for both gian and tiger

His backswing was so off I'll bet SD components just set him more orthodox. He may evolve into the full SD some day, maybe not. Just a guess.

cmon if Brian taught him I'm guessing that there was no prescribed sd NSA etc. Customized all the way. If Brian ever released lessons on video like Ben Doyle I would jump on them tout-suite!! (means quickly!!! Right Bird man!!??)

You've got it Bolt. :) (and the lesson tape part) I mean- oui oui.

Bibliotheque pamplemousse sil vous plais!

You got it. I don't remember hearing a single term from the Manzella Lexicon as it applied to my swing. As a matter of fact, we made one up for a particular move I was trying to do on the backswing. I was at no time forced to fit into a preexisting pattern. I don't really know what my swing is in terms of patterns, but I do know the type of shots it's now capable of producing, and that's enough for now.

You got me wrong Bolt. I'm not saying he walks up and down the range spouting "manzella pattern" terms. But alot of whats done comes from certain patterns. I know what customizing is.
