Sergio the Baby

Sergio has got to be the biggest whiner I have seen in a long time. Anyone catch his comments about Augusta last on GC?

‘Augusta isn’t fair’
‘It’s a trick and I never know what to hit even from the middle of the fairway’
‘I don’t like it’

They interviewed Harrington after that and he was shocked and went on and on about how it’s probably the nicest place to play golf in the world, and was a relatively easy set up this week.

It’s always someone else’s fault Sergio.

Wait until the ‘Bethpagers’ get a hold of that interview.

The set-up and conditions were a huge improvement this year. Lots of guys showed you could make birdies in bunches if you were spot on while at the same time high scores were still very possible. To me, that's a huge improvement over the last couple years. Much more exciting tournament. Sergio has a tendency to blame others, course conditions, etc for his own shortcomings, no doubt about it.

And when will Tiger figure out that what he's trying to do with the driver for the last several years just does not work?

I think Augusta has gotten way too much flak lately. I went there for a practice round in '07 and the course setup was fine. Problem was they had record cold and wind conditions in '07. Then in '08 Immelman pretty much ran away with it and still shot -8 with a 75 on Sunday.

Give Augusta some decent weather conditions and their traditional Sunday pin placements (something lack in the past few years) and you'll see those traditional late charges and memorable Masters like we saw yesterday time and time again.

Garcia will not like any course that places an absolute premium on having a high IQ on and around the greens.

Just when I thought he was maturing a little bit he gives THAT interview.

How funny that within a few minutes of the interview and the TGC analysts ripping him, an old Taylormade commercial comes on with Sergio swinging in their rain gear. I gotta believe some TM execs were absolutely cringing. Some "spokesperson" he's ended up being.

When will this "woe is me" attitude stop? I thought he was turning the corner too but here we go again. Does anyone know when this interview was done i.e. is this 15 mins after he finished his final round? The frustration is obviously still evident.......

Look Sergio, victims are us all. Get over it.

Trevino used to complain about the Masters too, very vocally. He later said he psyched himself out about winning there. Sergio plays better when he is pissed at something, I think he is setting up a dragon to slay for next year. It must be frustrating to hit the ball as well as he does and get nothing out of it because he cannot putt consistently well.

im certain sergio knows the faults in his game, and for him i guess (with no sports pyschology knowledge at all) to admit faults and shortcomings to the press is to show weakness to the rest of the field. i hate it when players used to talk about Tiger. "we cant compete with him", "hes just too good" and "when he plays well you dont stand a chance". serge doesnt want to show weakness to other players. defence mechanism possibly.

i like to back sergio. probably my favourite player out their (along with cabrera). and i sooooo want him to win a major. alot of majors actually. im sure this perceived attitude problem he has will disappear when he does win his major(s)

You would think his friendship with Rafael Nadal would rub off on him. Could you imagine how good Sergio would be if he had Nadal's mental skills?

I just saw/heard what Sergio said on TV. It was quite entertaining. I have no issues with his comments. Blame whatever you need to blame, get it out your system, and play your best next time.

Yeah..I think that's mostly what it is..frustration. Notice we didn't hear him whine so much the last few months since his PLAYERS win.
