Shaft address?

I know it can probably depend on what club, but what is the angle of the shaft at address. Straight up and down or leaning forward. In the past I used to have most of my shafts straight up and down except for my wedges which were farther back in my stance(so they would be leaning forward). Last night I took my 4 iron out and addressed the ball with the shaft leaning forwards. Result - great contact. I know the shaft at contact should be leaning forward but do you guys start out that way as well. Thanks a lot.

I think what I just described is called "impact fix", correct? What are the advantages or disadvantages to this type of set-up? Thanks

The shaft at impact will be more forward at impact than address because of centrifugal force created by dynamics, speed, torque, ect. If you start with the shaft too forward at address, it could lead to the clubhead being underplaned at the moveaway and cause the club to get out of balance from the get go. So I would say it would be more neutral at address and a little more forward at impact.
