Shaft at address v Shaft at impact

I have always been a fairweather poster. I usually only post when I have had a golf epithany and I lie dormant when my game sucks. Perhaps it should be the other way around. In any event, I was listening to Ian B. Finch talk about how Sergio returns his hands back at impact back to the way they were at address.

So I looked at what I do. I invariably return with HIGHER hands at impact. Perhaps this is because I uncock them to soon, I don't know. This is also why I lose my posture- my hands want to be higher with a more upright shaft and if I don't raise out of my posture, I would just hit the ground.

So I tried to return my hands to the same position or slightly lower at impact than address. First, it made me retain left wrist cock longer. Second, it made me hit lower knock down shots at first. I took it to the course and parred the first 12 holes (shot 77 with 32 putts). But I started to faulter the next day but was saved when I realized I was zeroing my hip turn out after watching Jim Furyk here:

So now I am trying to return my hands to the lower address position whilst carrying them to that position on my turning right hip. I was hitting so well today, I brought my 2-iron out. I figured if I could do it with a 2-iron, I could do it with anything. The result-- hard low boring stingers that carried 185-ish and rolled out to 230-ish on flat fairway.

So once again I am excited about golf. Not sure I have a question, but looking for comments or validation.

DS, that's a good thought if it helps you.

I would try a "reverse" plane board. You need three old shafts or similar. Set up two old golf shafts in the ground parallel to your shaft plane about six inches outside your target line. Aim the shafts parallel to your target. Use a couple tees in the grip ends of the old shafts so you can place a shaft above the ground resting on the tee/grip area.

Hit some easy short shots, till you feel a little more comfortable. You won't want to get steep. BANG...

most players set up on the hands only plane. the they impact on the elbow plane, which is invariably a steeper plane. sergio, vijay, nick price and others either set up with high hands, high enough to be on the elbow plane at address, then they return to the elbow at impact, hence impact at address angle. moe norman is best example of setting up on elbow plane.

the other thing these players do is have relatively low hands at impact but still have the right forearm on plane at impact.

so if you impact on the angle you address it, great.
if you dont, great.

What about all the great players with a "Single Shift," or a "Single Shift Plus"??
A single shift would have the player start on the elbow plane, shift up on the backswing to the Turned Shoulder Plane, then on the downswing, "downshift" back to the elbow plane before release point, and usually past "both arms straight."

Tom Bartlett is a wonderful swing of the golf club. Hey Tom! Why aren't you on the elbow plane at impact?

Tommy Moore RUINED his game trying to get there.

I could give you a list of the folks I should have LEFT on the Turned Shoulder Plane on the downswing.

I don't make mistake any more.

Some folks SHOULD try it (The Double Shift), but PLEASE don't try to return to the HANDS ONLY PLANE. :(

ok, when said impact on elbow plane, in some cases they dont, but they still have the right forearm on plane most of the time.

how do you know if someone isnt 'meant' to get to the elbow plane and be a single shifter?
and if you get some like this, and they want a draw, how do you do it?

and darby smith, looks like furyk is on the elbow plane at impact. i think
