Silly Question: Why we should swing on plane or in the right plane?

Can you help me with this silly question?...Today I was trying to give a first golf class to friend....when I told him...this is the plane and we must swing the club on plane?...he ask me why?............the only noise we can heard was the noise of the crickets....I could not answer this elemental question.
I know I have to do it but not why...

Any golf swing has the club swinging on a plane. It's up to the instructor or the golfer to find what plane works best for them, ie. turned shoulder plane or elbow plane.

I would make sure a first time golfer can control the club face before working on the swing plane. though.

>>I would make sure a first time golfer can control the club face before working on the swing plane

good advice, I like that !...Thanks

I have no the knowledge you have (elbow plane, U plane, D plane, etc.) I just have a fuzzy idea listening the Brian's videos.

Simplifying I have a swing similar to Hardy's one plane and I was trying to explain to my friend how my swing works.

In this case I am referring to the plane created by the shaft of the club.Theorically speaking, my question is why we have to move the shaft in a certain plane? just to put the club face square in the back of the ball? it to avoid power leakage?...Gracias por la ayuda.

the plane created at address?

technically, you don't.

the club shaft, depending on a person's swing, can and will change angles. all that really matters is that the "plane" is pointing in the correct direction for the shot at hand. just keep reading the info hear and watch all of the videos. nsa 2.0, soft draw, and nha 2.0 all have great info.

Yes, the plane is created at address. I have and watched all Brian's videos. I like NHA pattern, it is the best that fits with me.

I would like to understand and see a video about "baby fade"...because this is the ball flight I am looking for.

Thanks DannyC for your answers.

You must swing a club on plane because the laws of force and motion make you.
You swing on A PLANE to primarily to direct the bottom vector of your D-Plane.

I have been struggling with dragging the club to the inside on my backswing. I am seeking a better plane. I would think the proper plane is the one that allows you to deliver the club into impact with the least amount of excessive movement, I think you call it carry. The best plane is one that allows you to create the most efficient power through the ball. This perfect plane probably depends upon what your body can do, if you have limitations, or how your body moves mechanically. That's where all the biomechanics that is being discussed in another topic comes into play.
