Skying tee shots

What is the general cause of skying drivers? At the range today, a couple of my attempts at the driver ended up with me hitting the tee, and the ball rolled off. Clean hit of sorts :). Almost all of my shots were hit off the top of the driver, ending up in skyed shots. Some of my mi****s off the top of the driver ended up pretty far, almos 200 yds straight!! I managed only one soild shot, and evern whiffed on one. I tried setting up with ball near the toe end, with the ball at the further most toe end, with the driver off the ground.Last week I was hitting them pretty solidly. Maybe I am casting.

Thanks

Above the plane, and (or) not enough axis tilt.

Swing 'under the stick' and make sure the ball is well forward and your head isn't.

swing under the stick kind of sounds like riding the rim :)

DD,

Sometimes when you slide forwards in the downstroke, rather than rotating right through the swing, you will get your body in front of the ball and the clubhead comes in to impact too steeply behind you. This closes down the clubface and presents the top line of the clubhead to the ball as opposed to the face.

"Ding" and up goes the ball.

My right shoulder was too high at impact. Whenever I properly load the lag at the end of the backstroke/transition, I feel my left arm stretching across my chest, and my right shoulder going back and down. Its as though I am stretching/pulling both my right shoulder and my left arm through pressure point #3. My lower body autmatically responds and the aforementioned stretching/pulling motion keeps my upper body behind the ball, and creates the axis tilt. I was able to do this at the range today and hit the driver about 200 yds, but with a slice. Unfortunately, properly loading the lag is not like riding a bike. Easy to forget how to do for long stretches.
