Slightly bent left arm

Having studied TGM, I used to practice extensor action alot. My left arm was as straight as a pole from address to impact. Lately I have been working on a swing thought where I let my left arm bend just slightly on the backswing and keep it that way through the downswing. On video it looks like my left arm is just relaxed, not as straight as a pole. However I'm hitting the ball alot better with the slightly bent left arm. How come?

Also, it seems like a lot of tour players have that same slightly bent left arm. Why do very few have a really straight left arm?

Tight muscles are slower muscles. By taking out some of the tension you are letting it respond to movement. Think of it as a spring that if is tight can not flex anymore. If is has some movement left it will streach and then hesitate before to responses to the forward movement. More speed = more distance
