Steve's success in putting shows that the putting stroke doesn't have be a symetrical backstroke to a forward stroke.

He aims an open putter face at address with the toe down then reroutes the putter so that is square and sole is flat on the ground when the ball is stroked.

He appears to have a pendulum action that if he would be using a long putter it would be at the left breastbone.

How does this work?
Any comments?

Neat.

Same w Geoff Mangum's response below the vid:

"Wrong, it does have "something" to do with how you start the ball on line. In motor sports science, the person needs to understand how they do it, and one doubts that Steve Stricker KNOWS or UNDERSTANDS how he changes from aiming outside the line to stroking down the line some odd number of degrees difference. Putting where the putter aims is the result of another skill: aiming accurately. Then the stroke is easily KNOWN: send ball where putter aims. A golfer who doesn't do this could be better."

Maybe the putting stroke is similiar to the swing in that
doesn't matter how you address the ball or take the putter back.
as long as it's square coming back towrd the ball and the hole,
And if it repeatable.

In that way Stricker's putting stroke is kinda like Furyk's swing.
