Suggestions for next edition of TGM

Mathew,
The problem is that Joe Daniels and Danny Elkins own the rights to the book and, I beleive, all of the terminology in the book. Without their permission nobody could put the book on any type of CD using TGM terminology.

Mathew,
I was thinking of something very similar the other day.

An interactive CD with all of the text of TGM with LINKS FOR REFERENCES to make looking through the book easier. Articles, explanations, and pictures/video of everything.

I also thought a cool idea would be to have some type of 3D animation program with every TGM component built into it. It would be kind of like ModelGolf's software, but you could customize the model to use any component or variation. You could draw lines, planes, and arcs and move the camera all around to see every angle. You could then put the TGM ideas into a "real world" scenario to see how things actually look and work on a real person. This would let people actually SEE the differences between different plane angles, delivery paths, loading/releasing, hinging, etc. etc. etc.
I've thought about this too. You could click on the wrist, for example and it would bring up the text and section # of the wrist position. Also just having the book in a hypertext format would be a big win, where you could have a whole swing, then click through to all the components, then a picture of that component, then to the 3D model of the swing, or a video of a player that uses that component. I'm a programmer, so I could build something like this.

Something like this could be built a number of ways. Authorware is a good tool for building computer-based interactive training material running on CDs. It can be done with Flash too, but I am not sure if the standalone Flash player can be distributed freely. I know at one time, the standalone Flash player to run on a desktop(not in a browser) was only distributed with the Flash authoring tool. Obviously if this was to be web-based, then the Flash player is no problem because that can be downloaded from Macromedia to any browser and 90+ % of browsers already have it.

I wouldn't mind being involved with something like this, the issue would be if I have time to devote to a project like this.

Before some distractions, Danny Elkins and I discussed a Summit at some length. Now.......there is dry brush and I have a match.

Do any of you know Elkins or Daniels well enough to call them up and ask them if they have something or someone in mind already?

Someone for what Archie? I will say this, there are several other items that must be handled before any of these types of things get accomplish. You have 7th Edition, just to name one. And though it may be a top one, it is still not numero uno.

Matthew,

You have heard, "Nothing new under the sun?" These have been bantered around until I have lost my breath and patience. May the fastest gun in the west win. Being a young computer guy you know that these task could be great Christmas Stocking Stuffers. Hmmmm.......Yes! Yes it could!!!! LOL!!!!

Great ideas though.

Dude, a portion of the conversation has centered around creating a TGM interactive DVD or CD or book with explanations of the complex theories of Homer by Brian or Holenone with new pictures. I was just making the point that if Elkins and Daniels own the rights, perhaps that have something or someone else in mind regarding new TGM-related publications. i.e. We can talk until we are all blue in the face about a new TGM publication written by Brian and Holenone, but even if they wrote a brilliant golf literary work this weekend, they couldn't do anything with it without Elkins and Daniels approval.
