Taking the Next Step

I have been a forum member for nearly four years and I owe a lot to Brian Manzella and other forum members for improving my game (even though they don't know it).

I have had some success at the collegiate level but would like to take it further. My biggest problem is my flip, which has gotten better after watching COFF and NSA. Any advice whatsoever will be greatly appreciated!

I tried to get my swings in slow motion but I don't have the technology to do so just yet.

I hit behind the ball on this one.

Lately, my shots have been starting at my intended target and then they tail off about 5-6 yards to the right. The trajectory is not too high. It's closer to a medium/high trajectory. The penetration of the flight is okay...I hit my six iron 170-175.

I think the arms outrace the body on the backswing. Then the upper body pivot gets involved to pull them out in the transition and you are forced to slide it back under, opening the face (and possibly hitting it fat). Very common problem.

As a junior, id study some swings that harmonize the arms/body, especially in the early goings of the takeaway.

Like this one.

So how do you work on that synchronization? Ball between the arms? Towel under the armpits?

Always admired Faldo's swing. I know he was a Leadbetter student, but still... I think his swing is under-rated.

I like to feel that my upper body remains closed while the arms get out front. This happens before any tilting and during a re-centering of the body, sit down, if you will. No right knee slide or early tilt.
