er.....no way that kid hits it 250 yards. I assume you are kidding.

Nope,

He had his own website a few years ago (he was 6 then) and that was his longest ever, but that may have been lots of roll and downhill...who knows, his dad didn't clarify.....The record (to date) for a 5 and a 1/2 year old is 226 yards.....

Great move but if he flies it more than 100 yds id be impressed.

Puttmad, I saw a special or an article. Kid looks great and seemed really cool, but 250..?

They had an hour long program on him here and I remember it quite clearly (it was 249 yards actually)

Kevin, take a look at pic 4....look at the lag he has retained at that point compared to where his hands are relative to the ball (his left arm is nearly vertical and he still has nearly 90 degrees lag).....many very good golfers would like to be in that position...:)

Had to have been downhill and LOTS of wind or something. Hell I hit one the other day that went 320 but it was windy. I'm thinking it added almost 50-60 yards. There's just NO WAY that little guy can hit it 250, NO WAY. I bet Tiger wasn't even that close.

I think I read in Golf Digest or something where this kid averages 150 off the tee, which is still pretty good.

I agree with the above no way he hit it 250 unless it was 50 yards down hill with a 50 mph tailwind AND the fairways were baked.

I have found that chipping, pitching and putting are the way to go with kids. A grass whip or Brian's back and forth drill are also especially useful.

Make sure they understand they are TRYING TO KNOCK THE BALL TO CHINA. Tell them they are the 'wake-up call' some little boy or girl in China.

Telling my daughter and son to do this and it's worked well. Right away my daughter hit her wedge with a decent trajectory to the middle of the green from about 45 yards. Keep telling them to bang down on their irons and to swing up on their drivers. Both have improved. Wish I would have started when I was 3!

My kid hits it off the turf better than he does off the tee. I'm a bit hesitant to tell him to start hitting "up".
