Tee it up with Tiger... What's more amazing

If Tiger really understood swing plane he sure as hell wouldn't be working with mr parallel planes.

The point is that Tiger does get technical with his swing and his game in general, debunking the theory that technical golf instruction is by the talentless for the talentless (and Mac O'Grady doesn't have talent? He's a + handicap from both sides of the ball). Tiger is the same guy that constantly videotapes his swing for his own analysis. And this is the same guy that owns not one, but two SAM puttlabs. I think what the Tee It Up With Tiger program shows is how important feel is because in the case of AK he's mostly a feel type of player. In the case of Tiger, he's a guy that likes to get technical, but also relies a lot on feel.

You can’t play good golf without a good golf swing. The problem is many golfers think they can. Many think the next golf tip is the answer to good golf. The golf swing is about SKILL and TECHNIQUE and many golfers lack both. To learn SKILL and TECHNIQUE is easy with the correct information and training. It can turn a hacker into a 80’s player and sometimes better. Without SKILL and TECHNIQUE the only factor is luck. The luck factor for most golfers is that one shot out of many that looks like golf. Without the luck factor I wonder how many more golfers would quit the game. Just a thought?

My word, I've seen video of swings from decades ago that prove the "golf swing" doesn't have to be decent to play good golf. The collision with the golf ball has to be decent to be predictable but how you get there has some incredibly large specific number as dictated by tgm.

I mostly just thought it was interesting to see the differences in behaviour.

Tiger wanted to run the show and Kim seemed content to follow his lead.

Not really any "jockeying for position" even with them being competitors. (AK is looking to put some heat on Tiger coming up, no doubt)

Different approaches to playing as well.

For the most part, not necessarily a knock on either of em.....

But a golf swing that works IS a good golf swing, gg.

Everything else (non-contributing to results) is aesthetic...correct?

I WISH I WAS WATCHING IT. BUT NO I HAD WORK.

You didn't miss anything groundbreaking. To me, other than any reading between the lines you'd be doing, it was mostly mildly interesting.

(i.e. golf content-wise)

What if someone like Brian was asking the questions.....?

BTW no matter what he knows Tiger's swing IS great and he obviously works on it a lot. Mostly not on the golf course.

And.....that's enough out of me for now...:)

very, very true

Maybe, I read between the lines too much with Guitar Hero's comment but it was my impression that he was referring to the technical aspects during the swing.

As john jacobs said, the sole purpose of a golf swing is to create a correct impact, the method employed is insignificant as long as it is repeatable.

Homer said it best - "let mechanics produce - let feel reproduce." You work on mechanics and technical thoughts during practice. You translate that into feels and sensations that you can take with you to the golf course.

I feel like Anthony knows a lot. I saw him on playing lesson with the pro last night, and he totally knew what he was doing. Maybe he lost a bet to Tiger and he had to play dumb for the day.

I saw it too. I agree. He knows what he needs to know, that was my point in an earlier post.

Hey man you guys might be right............he very well could be "toning it down" some on purpose, at times.

For a guy who one day will come across as super self-assured and with big aspirations (I think he even announced he wanted to be The Top Dog, per-se) he really does seem mild and submissive at times.

Maybe it is on purpose.

Who knows...
