TGC Golf Coverage is mind numbingly horrible.

Sorry. Just needed to shout it out loud. It is freakin brutal. All I wanna do is see some golf shots and I might see 1 every 10 minutes. Just horrible horrible coverage. ANd sorry to Faldo fans but I think he is as interesting drywalling and that's an insult to Drywallers.

k. Done. :)

Faldo can be funny at times.

I know what you mean though. I record it and get a good 10 minutes worth of watchable stuff out of 4 and a half hours. (Mostly just watch the swings in slo motion)

Love the "Pure Shot" tip of the day by youknowwho...stay down and hit it pure...gee thx. Good grief.

Kelly T. on Michael Bolton: "such a silky voice..." Gawd shoot me now!

really easy solution...don't watch it

Easy? Wait, don't watch the PGA golf coverage in hi-def at Torrey Pines or Pebble Beach because there is a nimrod or two in the booth? That's not an answer.

Better answer is maybe turn off the sound when it bugs you.

Kelly is terrible, sadly. I don't want to listen to inspirational, heartwarming stories while watching golf. Save that type of lame sports reportage for the Olympics when non-sports fans flock to TVs to hear heartwarming stories about athletes.

European Tour announcers are a bit better.

Oosterhouse is by far the worst i have ever heard when trying to give a swing analysis. Totally boring the rest of the time.

Hand controlled remote, or somnifacient inactivity?

I can live with Faldo....even Kelly............................but the commercials never freakin end. Two minutes of golf........15 minutes of commercials.

Plus........we usually get to watch 3-4 golfers for the entire show. It's almost as if the rest of the field is shooting 85 and the Golf Channel can't be bothered to even describe the debacle.

I have resorted to recording every tournament and watching the entire program in about an hour. Because if you fast forward through all the commercials.....an hour is all you get.

Long Term Goal of Mine.

I might surprise you folks with this one, but I have a long-time, long-term goal of being the #1 color analyst in golf.

(That's not my only long-time, long-term goal, but it is on the relatively short list)

One day, just for fun, I'll do some color OVER a telecast and post it up.

Then, maybe me and Tom Bartlett will do a whole telecast.

That'll get some YouTube hits.

(I can hear 'em now.....he thinks he can do TV....hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!)

I can see it now.

Miller: "Dottie, was that a heavy hit?"
Dottie: "No Johnny, that was solid."
Miller: "I swear there was force across the shaft."
Manzella: "BALONY!!!!!!!!!!!!"

The best sports color comes from TNTs NBA team. kenny smith, barkley, and reggie miller arent afraid to call other players out and are constantly joking with each other. golf could use this but that will never happen. it is too much of a "gentleman's" game. former pros are too afraid to say anything bad about current players, even if its justified. the one exception would be johnny miller, but even he is tame now because he has been so villified for the few "controversial" comments he has made.

im not sure what brian would bring to golf color commentary other than swing analysis, which would get kind of repetitive after a couple hours every week.

if they really wanted to make watching golf more exciting, they would enforce the 40 second shot clock or however long it is. its odd that in a game that values the rules so much, this rule is blatantly ignored by everyone.

You have obviously never been around Brian. He would be better at that then teaching golf. And, he might never mention the golf swing.
