TGC Golf Coverage is mind numbingly horrible.

I have a love-hate relationship with The Golf Channel.

Pros:

Golf is always on.

Cons:

I have to listen to Hawkins, Learner, Rolfing (makes me start rolfing), etc. etc.

...

I don't mind Faldo for the most part (though, like pretty much all the pundits, his swing analyses are mostly at least iffy).....and while Tillman is a little dry, at least she doesn't say too many overly annoying things.

Mostly I just can't stand how sensationalized a lot of the stuff on that channel has become. The Approach is ok cause I don't mind McGee (mostly) and the Bowtie Guy. Some of that stuff though.....my God. Those little panel discussions they have...get me the hell out of the room. I think they play off each other...and the lunacy multiplies!

Sometimes I wish I could go right through the screen.

(well I guess I could but I wouldn't end up in their studio)

Miller is still by far the best at saying what he's thinking without sounding forced and like he is sensationalizing.

I could honestly hit Craig Cann (is that the guy's name?) every single time he says "NOW!!" to start that FREAKIN Golf Central show. Honestly that really bugs me for some reason!!

BTW yes the Euro Tour announcers aren't real lively but they are somewhat jolly in a Jolly Engligh Guy kind of way. It reminds me of watching old telecasts. They call what is happening and that's mostly the deal.

One more thing.....there are some tours that have vastly better camera angles than others.

You are watching a guy from a perfectly "down the (target) line", ground level view where you will get to see the ballflight and everything...

Then they switch to some stupid blimp view that pretty much shows you nothing.

I would love to see it cause I am into golf swings...

But I think really anyone would rather see the swing and the ball take off than watch a stick figure hit a ball over undistinguishable terrain.

Turned on the CBS coverage of Pebble Beach yeasterday. I do not think they showed any golf in over an hour of watching - just one boring celebrity interview after another.

Golf for non-golf fans, I think. I believe they are going to show actual golfers today.

I must say the Senior Tour coverage today was pretty good. I didn't really care too much about what the announcers were saying, I just wanted to see Golf shots and I got it here.

just an informational thing here

his name is spelled

Kraig Kann and he should be KANNNNNNED

howard

Hehe you're on it.

And if it WAS Cann we could call him CANNOT...!

:)

He is a good competent host in a lot of ways but the guy just gets on my nerves. And too obviously sensationalizing.

...

To me, two more of the good ones are Inga Hammond and Brandel Chamblee.

I can't remember ever having a problem with anything they're ever said (whether I have or not) and I still find them interesting enough. To me that is saying a lot.

And Steph Sparks is maybe dry but not bad in more ways than one.

(good golf swing too)

For Kann, and Tilghman etc, try listening to THEIR elocution and NOTICE how every THIRD or fourth word is HEAVILY emphasized.

Ugh. :O

So add this insane elocution to their insane sensationalizing and it's (for sure) unwatchable!
