Well about 2 hours ago I was axed from my position as VP of the Insurance Brokerage I worked for here in Las Vegas. Never even saw it coming. So thats 120,000K a year plus car and benefits gone. The type of contract that I had was called an "At Will" deal so ....no severance as of 10/25 done!

Its funny that I would be posting about this on a website, but I am on this site so often I feel that I know most of you.

This may be an opportunity to branch off into another field so I am open for suggestions. I have always been in sales/management and really know how to teach, motivate and relate to clients. At this time insurance has been my chosen career for over 25 years. I have only worked in 2 cities and that would be Chicago and Las Vegas.

I need ideas to keep from going boilistic. I have put some feelers out there already, but it has only been 2 hours.

Thanks All

Jim

best advice would be follow your heart and instincts....pick up the book WHAT COLOR IS YOUR PARACHUTE? it will help you focus on what you REALLY want to do......

In 1923, Who Was:

1. President of the largest steel company?
2.. President of the largest gas company?
3. President of the New York stock Exchange?
4. Greatest wheat speculator?
5. President of the Bank of International Settlement?
6. Great Bear of Wall Street?

These men were considered some of the worlds most successful of their day..
Now, 80 years later do you know what ultimately became of them?

The Answers:

1. The president of the largest steel company.
Charles Schwab,

died a pauper.

2. The president of the largest gas company,
Edward Hopson,

went insane

3. The president of the NYSE, Richard Whitney,

was released from prison
to die at home.

4. The greatest wheat speculator, Arthur Cooger,

died abroad, penniless.

5. The president of
the Bank of International Settlement,

shot himself.

6 The Great Bear of Wall Street, Cosabee Livermore,

also committed suicide

However,
in that same year, 1923, the PGA Champion
and the winner of the most important golf tournament, the US Open, was

Gene Sarazen.

What became of him?

He played golf until he was 92,
died in 1999 at the age of 95.
He was financially secure
at the time of his death.

The Moral:

SCREW work.
Play golf.
