Brian,

There was a post on this forum "Realistic Portenial of Golfers". Also
posted on the FGI site.

What percentage of golfers/public have the INNATE potential to become scratch/+ figures golfers , 5 to scratch, 10 to 5 and 15 to 10 HC if they were trained well by a good coach had all the time they needed to practice and started in young adulthood ? What are your opinions on this?

"Troubleshooter Challenge" on TheGolf Channel failed at this.

I'm offering my services ;) to you for this challenge. I've read a lot of your posts reagrding how you want to be the "best". Well... here you go.

Let's get this going. You can document the whole thing on the forum.

TGC just needs to get the right folks..... they are out there. Problem is, good golf instruction is bad for business, from their point of view!

I'd love to see:

Ben Doyle
Yoda
Wally Armstrong
Manuel De La Torre
Martin Hall
Brian
Redgoat
George Hibbard

And if anything were possible.....

Ernest Jones, Bobby Jones, Hogan and Knudson

You can count me in too ;)

Good golf instruction is not bad for business.
Celebrity golf instructors are good for business.

Helloo!!!

Well, I'd like 2 see Brian accept this challenge.

A little about me:

I'm a 6'1' fit 35 yr old male (36 in May). Very athletic. I've been playing golf since last January of 2003. Never picked up a golf club in my life before that.

I've broken 90 3 times (85, 86, 87).

I've had lessons from 4 different instructors... including a half day lesson this past Feb. with Chuck E.

I practice/hit balls at least 2 times a week and play at least once a week.

My swing is getting much better... but it's not consistent at all.

Believe me I work at it and will continue to do so. Just not getting the results the way I am accustomed to. Athletics have always come easy to me.

So let's do it Brian. I'll be your biggest mouthpiece if you can get me to become a scratch golfer.

Helloo!!!

Ok, how about 'excellent' golf instruction is bad for business? ;)

Seriously, if being on TGC shows was about being the 'best' teachers, there would be other folks on.

Sad but true, more about celebrity, than good information.....

Hue....

Sorry 2 disagree.

DT? Challenge? he was already a tour pro b4 brian wokred with him correct?

Tom? Working with Brian since he was a young pup. Groomed to be a pro.

Those are not challenges.

To me I'm what u would call a challenge.

Middle aged 20 handicap player.
Turn me into a scratch player and that's stepping up and saying something

Call me at 502.417.4653 and we'll talk.

Basically if YOU sell the idea to any publictaion or TV or Radio show of a decent size....I'll do it for free.

Well....

I'm not sure what I'd have to do to get that accomplished, but let me look into it.

I will call you this evening.

Such a hodge podge of instructors, conflicting advice from some.

Doyle and Manzella in one corner. Mike Austin and Bobby Schaeffer in another. Evans and Yoda in the third. Last, Gring and Bender.

And how could you "if anything was possible.." and not have Mr. Kelly there? With Mr. Hogan.

Me and Hogan at the bar afterwards.

ah yes, my bad... Homer would indeed be invited (but then we could ditch Brian, Yoda, and Doyle) ;) I'd add in Dante too, for good measure....

But, the 'hodge podge' is the point.... if we were to see who does the best job, best to have some variation in theories

Of course, no matter the details used to describe it, I suspect there would, in reality, be much agreement about what the club must do.

And there would of course, be plenty of room at the bar

I hope you were kidding when you included G. Hibbard. He spent years on the golf newsgroup claiming TGM was nonsense. HIs posed photos of his golf "swing' were good for comic relief.

Did George really write this about TGM? Have you got any links to any of these articles ? I would like to read them . Thanks.

Yes and no, and thats the beauty of George H.- he is all over the map. One day Gravity Lee is the second coming of Gallilo (really, as a genius), the next day he cites Mr. Kelley, the next he bashes him. Most of the bashing came while attacking Laville. George really only knows CAP LOCK.

Well any dejanews search about pretty much any golf topic will show Hibbard's "wealth" of golf swing knowledge. It's amazing how relentless spamming on a newsgroup somehow elevates a fraud to a credible swing instructor.

EdZ:

Noticed you mentioned Redgoat. I assure you he belongs in that company. I do worry Brian might get pulled by the FCC.
