A few questions…

Is that impact or just after impact?

Is the clubhead before low point, at low point, or after low point?

If you actually look like that at impact, where should the ball be for “good” ball flight?

Who actually looks like that at impact and hits a “normal” looking shot (this rules out Trevino)?

Am I being unnecessarily pedantic about this logo?

I would think that Bmanz's logo is outdated now as he likes less forward lean.

Disclaimer: I'm probably way off.

A lot of shut faced, really good players, get looking like this. Rich Beem comes to mind when I see this logo. Certainly Trevino as mentioned. Duval had this look (if you rotated the logo's head:)

"Pedantic?" what the h is that mean:)

Cheers,

MC

That's Lee Trevino folks, at low point I believe. LEE TREVINO'S SWING WILL NEVER BE OUTDATED!!!

okok, patience....! :)
tongzilla,

Whilst you are waiting for Brain to survive the bad weather and finding his bearings
let me ask you a question.

Do you feel that the logo-impact position is one readily attainable in a full-blown swing?

I don't want to answer this question yet...but:

Yes.

(not the same, but you can extrapolate, i.e. use your imagination ;))
tongzilla,

Using my imagination, extrapolating, I feel that there is a considerable difference between the logo and the picture. In golf a few inches is sometimes like a country mile. ;)

so do you think this position is attainable in a full swing?

Yes, it's attainable, but your original question implies it's not desired. Did I read wrongly between the lines?
tongzilla,

The particular logo impact position looks and feels rather contrived. Brian himself is seemingly moving away from it and prefers a more freewheeling swing.

I would like to see if this particular impact position, for full swing with driver, does occur in the golf swings of Snead, Hogan, Nicklaus, Watson, Woods, Singh, Else, etc..

I don’t think it is really necessary to get the hands that much forward. Even with or slightly beyond the ball is probably just fine.

However each and every golfer is a kingdom to himself. This ‘swinging up the left arm’ is perhaps more specific to TGM than to traditional golf instruction.

The picture of Trevino cant even be seen as being impact unless his driver has rebounded 12 inches after striking the ball.

The Trevino/Manzella Logo images are post impact and classical positions demonstrating a flat left wrist, bent right wrist and lagging club head through impact. All things to be desired and striven for according to the Golfing Machine lore (Law?). No flipping or throwaway here!

Greg McHatton, a fine swinger of a golf club if ever there was one, replicates these alignments perfectly and we would all do well to follow suit.
