The 'exaggerated' lagging clubhead takeaway in that video is really sloppy.

Sure, if you swing like that your going to really feel the clubhead but the expense of any real control.

Not sure I would call it sloppy.

But, here is the deal:

The old impact logo was STOLEN from me, and thankfully so, because it made me change it to the current ANTI-tripod Tiger-like A, and by now the TREVINO-like one wouldn't be my logo anymore anyhoo.

By the way, all new logo, all new website is very close....:)

As far as swinging like the logo, make sure you aim left. ;)

Badds

Old school Badds pattern? It's close..........

That's a silly comment. If you can really feel the clubhead, you have control.

Greg McHaton is one of the better ball strikers I've ever seen! I watched him teach a PGA Seminar about 15 years ago in Palm Springs and was blown away by how well he hit the ball while giving a seminar to 20 PGA Members.

The ball knows it is getting squashed when he hits it... and when it is squashed as well as he does it, it generally has the right "tords."

He's a former US Junior Champ btw...

Brian,

I feel it takes vigorous dynamic recoiling of the club at the transition to more readily get into this extreme forward impact position.

Are there any pros who still use significant take away lagging and hence likely vigorous dynamic recoiling. Has it been abandoned by all?

My learned friend, even though you can really 'feel' the clubhead dragging by allowing the orbit to go in the opposite direction around the left wrist center at startup from the loading direction of the backstroke, it will make the loading will far more extreme and less controllable than it needs be and it will impact the persons ability to control the clubhead and clubface. It is fallacious to think just because you really feel something that you have good control over it...

Not one of the people who have been known for being deadly accurate in a tour-tested enviroment has the loading occur in that manner because of its disadvantages. When 'they' perform a lagging clubhead takeaway, the hands never leave their adjusted address conditions during startup which allows a much more controlled loading in responce to the clubhead orbit during the backstroke. It might help beginners to mid-low handicappers as it does have advantages however if they are serious about golf, later it will need to be corrected.

Almost without exception - their lagging clubhead takeaway occurs whereby the hands never leave their adjusted address conditions during startup which allows a much more controlled loading in responce to the clubhead orbit yet still having a lagging clubhead takeaway. It might help beginners to mid-low handicappers as it does have advantages however if they are serious about golf, later it will become a crutch for them.

Deadly is on the money here . Although its helpful for a rhythm aspect another drawback for the players out there is the sob turf drag problem
