The Power Fade

after watching quite a bit of golf this year, I am more and more impressed with Vijay Singh's game, especially off the tee. That Power Fade he hits is a very impressive weapon. I typically play a draw, and when ever I try to hit a power fade, I usually either hit a pull hook or slice the ball. Any tips on how to properly hit the power fade consistently?

Thanks

I read an article on his equipment and his driver is 4* open to keep him from sniping it like he did down the stretch in a tournie last year (I believe last year). He snapped one in the water on the back nine.

I think I understand the comment about the "cut backhand". Problem is, how do you control the cut. I've played with it a bit and have a hard time controlling the amount of fade. Can easily turn into a slice.

i also play a little draw and have tried all the open your stance weaken your grip open the clubface hoopla and it works but it is hard to get a little fade it works for me more when i wanna hit a bigger cut. but to hit a little fade i just hold on with my left hand a little tighter than normal and make a normal swing it seems to work the best for me,experiment by holding really tight and than less and less untill uyou get the shape you want

To hit the "power fade" you first need to be able to do the 'power' part.

Most slicers are intrigued by the IDEA of turning their slice into a 'power fade'.

Good Luck.;)

If you have lag pressure and can hit a draw, you can learn the power fade (boy I hate that term)

To do it you need to learn to hit an INSIDE-OUT cut shot with FORWARD LEAN.

Practice hitting drivers off of the deck.

When you set up to hit the actual shot, make sure to aim LEFT ENOUGH to hit the inside-aft quadrant of the ball with the face NOT CLOSING through impact (angled hinging)
