The Upright Swing And The Block

I think I'd try to shallow out my angle of attack in the ds with longer clubs and certain shots and swing well to the right.

NHA & Block means you are most likely TOO IN on the backswing and thus drop it back underplane. I worked with i believe sideyard on this at GTE, once i had him less in and bent his wrist a bit BINGO, high soft fade.

I have been trying to figure out for the last few days, I think it's because I'm lifting my arm but not really turning my shoulder.

So try to imaging this, if you lift your arm with little shoulder turn, you really have to move your legs to drop down from the inside. Where as if you turn your shoulder while your hands are moving up then it would drop down from teh inside correctly. I think that was mainly my problem. LIke Fred Couple says, sometimes he gets in trouble when he has the arm in position but no shoulder turn...

your shoulders turn enough, you don't have to worry about turning them because as you go up the wall the shoulders follow and turn you in SOME. NHA is designed to limit how much turn so nothing gets too IN. NHA isn't SUPPPOSED to drop down from inside, you are supposed to come right down the wall and the plane.

It sounds like you are trying to use NHA for something it wasn't designed for and having trouble with it.

Ok So I just have to come over the top, and the ball goes very straight ,and most of the time it has little draws. I tried to find a point where my right shoulder should go to make sure i don't swing under plane. I lined myself up to the target and place a ball about 3-4 feet away my left toes and just try to have my right shoulder go there on the downswing. It felt really really good. It felt like my right shoulder was down and forward...instead of just down. I'll do more experiment...in the mean while.

Upwall backswing really helps too. If I even do a lil bit of Sd, man the club drops so much inside it's not even funny.

bend the left wrist more at the top of your swing and it will fade

I went to the golf course today, did pretty well, but I know I'm not hitting the ball pure. This inside hands move makes for the backswing makes me really want to swing the ball to the right because the shaft is pretty vertical to the ground so on the downswing I have to really stretch my "fat" to have the club come down the correct plane. I have to make a lot of effort to make this swing work. Where as (i don't pop out anymore) if I take the club on a straighter line back (the club is more infront of me), the downswing is so much smoother and easier. It's like I don't have to work an extra effort for it to come down correctly.

I just feel like if I take my club back in like Adam in the video where the club goes almost vertical to the sky, the transition has to be drastically change in order to make the plane flatter on the downswing. My thought is, if you are poping out, this is a great pattern for you, if you are not pop out on your backswing, it will really make you swing inside out. Do you agree?

if you are trying to say that NHA makes you swing inside/out then you are doing something drastically wrong.

no...not NHA, SD.

I mean one should be able to swing all patterns right? NHA is good for me, but why can't i use SD backswing/downswing? I also notice that if my right elbow further away from the right side of my body, the better. It doens't get stuck on the downswing. Most of the time when I use SD backswing it just crash against the right side of my body. I mean I'm trying to swing my arms (joints in my shoulder) but the more i do that the more inside out I swing. Unless I really try to feel like coming over the top then it fix the problem.

I'm searching for answer because I have 30 years left till I compete in the Senior PGA tour. Hopefully I can find it by then haha

I think this whole time I was confused. The left shoulder going back misinterpretation. I thought the left shoulder is going back directly whatever it's behind me and just stop there. I watched NSA again, the shoulder should be moving back towards the back of my head instead of back of my left shoulder. Now I really feel like I can swing left, and it doesn't get stuck anymore. Even with short games and punch shot.
