you're either standing up through the shot, a result of bobbing your body OR (this is usually the problem) you're losing lag and flipping at the ball to some degree causing you to "hit up" on the ball. You need to learn how to keep more lag pressure and hit down more
 
Yes sir- hitting up is no good. Think about it...the ball is on the ground...if your club is going up when it hits the ball it is not going towards the ground. Bad contact.

If you are BELOW plane, you can't hit down on it.

If you are ABOVE plane, you will try to get UNDER IT and you WON'T HIT DOWN ON IT.

Downplane....downplane.
