I think the questioning of golf instructors methods by students who have less knowledge is more the result of the student wanting to know why some method works, rather than just taking the instructors word for it. Since so much of golf instruction is anecdotal and doesn't have any real solid theory behind it(i.e. its something a great player does so it must be important), this may not be a bad thing.
