This is what a FLAT Left Wrist looks like!

Brian,

You've seen that I use a flat left wrist in my swing, but I've noticed on video that the clubface doesn't match my flat left wrist/forearm, especially with my irons. Is this something that needs to be changed? If so, how?

I have a friend who told me that he was taught by George Knudsen or one of those guys to feel "left palm down" at the top of the swing, which is what it says to feel your left palm facing the ground. Now, of course, I'm not sure if it ever gets there, but is that an acceptible thought to have, or does that mean you are having to manipulate the backswing/club to get there, versus just having it happen by making the correct move(s) going back?

Only the left wrist is flat, not the left wrist AND the back of the hand, right? Incorrect? I've seen a photo from a Golf Digest swing sequence where Vj's left wrist and hand don't form a straight line (a bit cupped), but his wrist is flat.

You might wanna re-read that Divot....don't make sense to me.

I've seen one with an Arched left wrist clubface pointed to sky (looked like a 3 wood....the one on Redgoat's site), one where his left wrist is cupped and the face matches his forearm (in a GD article....but he is swinging a momentus type-deal.....and prolly is posed....so take it for what it's worth), and then photos like this one where it's Flat and the face is bang on.

...

I have also heard tho that VJ's woods are like 5 degrees open....(not sure if it's actually that much)...

According to "the book", the wrist is defined as flat when the forearm and back of the hand form a straight line.

I really like those pictures especially tigers right arm. To me either will work but tigers arm makes it much easier to get into a pitch postion on the downswing. much less compensation basically it has stayed in the pitch position throughout the stroke
