Different camera angles. It only looks like the same angle because that lady has a very closed stance. Not the point anyway.

I just said from that position at the top she needs to swing out to right field to compensate.Didn't say you can't play good golf with that type of swing.I said her backswing is horrible, not her downswing.

Whos to say Phil aint swinging right himself? He has got his backswing steeper working with Butch and he's not as OTT anymore.OTT is relative in any case,it's not a definitive term.

Camera Angles, Shamera Angles.

Geez.

No.

No.

No.

and

NO!

They have a million golfers who make a similar backswing, and swing too far under and to the right.

You have to know this...right?

I said her backswing is horrible

I say your analysis is horrible.

I like her backswing.

Nor as good.

Annoying Question for Brian that he gets all the time

Brian,

I just NEED to ask, sorry...Why is Phils move worse now with the "steeper" arm swing/working with Harmon?? AND What would you recommend Mr. Mickelson do to help his move?? Thank you:)

Brian,I have no problem with you saying my analysis is horrible but at least explain why.

Swinging too far right does and can lead to underplane issues coming into impact. It usually presents itself as initially very steep in the transition and then shallows out abruptly into impact with divots flying right.

If what she is practising is not a compensation for that backswing, then what is she doing? She sure is heck not doing what she thinks shes doing in her real swing. It's all worked out quite good.....for the time being.

You are going to get more hackers with that kind of backswing than you will good players.Sure, good golf can be played with any backswing swing. We can't legislate for genius.

I say that she practices that move because she has a go left setup, and she wants to defend against a pull. I have a more refined version of her practice move, where my downswing trigger is created by right side compression. She should take a lesson with me! I could give her 20 more yards in 15 mins;) Beat that Manzella:)

I was there last year, with those inside out practice swings movements...and those endless pointless "great" tips..."oh oh you came over the top on that one, you really need to swing more from the inside, more the the right".
I couldn't hit a god dam 3wood of the deck without hitting it fat or hook one..."try maybe moving the ball more to the back and remeber don't come over the top this time..." duckhook...

NHA2 SAVED ME...Understanding and knowing the D Plane...new world opens up, like magic!
Now all that I thinking about is contact and if the face is 2 or 3-4* open 3 yards fade or 10 yards fade...and draws, right now I don't need them.

Thank you Brian Manzella #1 teacher in the world!

I left a link to NHA2 to that golfer, eventually she will get there, in the future...

Second that about BM too....

He compiles simple, organized material that works (because of his relentless dedication).

I have made friends with my miss: NHA2 and understanding the D-plane got me back to where I feel like I can win every time I put the peg in the ground. Not that I do, but it's NICE FEELING THAT WAY!!

Well....

Because is a SCORING WORSE and WINNING LESS.

Other than that, I am sure it "looks good on video."

at some point in your life you have looked into a pool of water and fallen in love, right?

I agree!

I hit balls today at The Dome............I was trying all kinds of different patterns.....alternating between strong and neutral grips.....might have missed on the wrong side about 10 times out of 100 balls...and there wasn't much curve to the misses. (pushes and pulls with little curve)

True Path!!

I don't think I even pulled a NHA shot all day. (never mind with draw spin)

Love that pattern now that I have a handle on it.

NHA Set Me Free!!

:);)

BTW someone tell me................Phil Mickelson............Flat or Rotated Shoulder Turn?

I see Phil is in a position where his shoulders are at 90 degrees to the spine but...

Has he not arrived there with a Flat ST?

I like how long and flowing the young woman's swing (first posted in this thread) is. And how the finish is NOT a cut-off, posed finish that doesn't match her swing. The swing has quite a few SD elements.

When did shortening everyone's swing become the fad of the day? Why do all the CBS commentators think Mickelson needs to really shorten his swing -- so he can hit his 8-iron 25 yards shorter? So which players, in reality, do need their swing shortened up?

I agree!

Though if he at least keeps his fluidity (i.e. no over-attempt at "width") he will be OK, all else being equal.

Does anyone know exactly what Butch is trying to do with Phil?

I don't see any plane angle changes indicitive of a Classic Harmonizing.

I see now why everyone here loves her backswing. It's similar to Bobby Jones.

So by logic it must a good backswing.

Too bad she can't do what Jones can do coming down.Swing left.

Hey ej20,

For whatever reason, I don't think you like my Soft Draw Pattern either.

Unfortunately for you, I has helped a lot of folks who were all tied up in a knot, trying to do what you must like.

The gig is up.
