Saw this tweet from Doug Ferguson405:
"Spoke to Steve Williams about Aussie TV report that he's been fired. He said it's not true. And on it goes ..."

Who knows at this point. Remember all the different stories out of the Woods camp when he fired Fluff? Won't know for sure until Tiger is back playing.

The story that I've heard is that Williams has been photographed out running around with another player during all hours of the day. Carrying his bag and cleaning his balls. Williams has publicly talked about how much he values the committed relationship he has with Tiger, so you can imagine the pain and hurt Williams' "new" relationship has caused Tiger. Tiger just simply can not tolerate disloyalty and betrayal.

I've also seen reports that Tiger is seeking custody of ALL Williams' Nike clothing and footwear. Nike has issued a statement saying they would never associate themselves with such reckless behavior.

Is this ironic?

You're right. Tiger's camp is quick to deny/rebuff/reflect/play with semantics until things become "official". But it has often been the case that where there's smoke, there's fire. I wouldn't be shocked if this were true. I guess I wouldn't be shocked if it weren't true, either. Nothing would shock me anymore regarding Tiger. I just hope that if it is true, that it's an example of him continuing to try to get his house in order, and not the result of some paranoid, hyper-jealous, misplaced sense of betrayal.

Whatever the case, I just want to see the guy get it together and get back on form. Love him or hate him, there's nothing like watching Tiger when he's on top of his game. I'd love to see that again before he's done.

The PGA Tour wants this too.

Tiger parts ways with caddie Steve Williams - Game On! - USATODAY.com

Here's another breakup of a long-term relationship for Tiger Woods. Woods announced on his website today that he and caddie Steve Williams are parting ways.

"I want to express my deepest gratitude to Stevie for all his help, but I think it's time for a change," Woods said. "Stevie is an outstanding caddie and a friend and has been instrumental in many of my accomplishments. I wish him great success in the future."

Woods didn't name a replacement.

Williams had been Woods' caddie since March 1999 and was on the bag for a record 13 majors with Tiger. With Woods recovering from leg injuries and out of competition, Williams had recently been carrying the bag for Australian Adam Scott, this year's runnerup at the Masters.

At the U.S. Open Scott had assured it wouldn't be a permanent relationship, saying, "No. He is Tiger's guy and that's how it is."

But that's no longer the case.

Wow. What is up with Tiger?

I absolutely can not wait for Mgranato to respond to this.

This should be good.

Man, I didn't think it would happen. I figured It would happen like it did with Fluff, play in some tournaments without Steve, lie about the reason for a few weeks until you find a full time replacement.

One of the things that comes to mind is that Tiger seemed catty about the job Stevie did for him on Sunday at Pebble Beach. He particularly complained about his decisions on the tee shot on the 6th and the sand wedge approach to the 10th.

I think the change is good for Tiger. He needs someone who wants to push him forward. He probably wasn't getting that as much from Stevie anymore.

We'll never know all of the facts and can only guess. If thee was friction between Foley and Steve then I suspect Tiger made the right move. I still believe that Tiger is going to be a more deadly player when he returns because he'll have mire patience and control off the tee. He can win hitting that ball 20-30 yards less off the tee and if he gains 2-3 more fairways watch out.

I think we often forget how great a player he really is since the history of the game. How many people have won all four majors in their career? Simply brilliant.

He thinks the problem lies with what's around him and the cure is to change the scenery?
Just one more bad move.
