Tiger - Hand Path Analysis by Brandel Chamblee

I've tried to clarify that my opinion of vertical hand path never meant 90 degrees to the ground. Although there are plenty of guys that let their hands go straight down initially before out. I will say this, a mini carry is certainly not optimal.

Alright, so there's really not massive disagreement here.

I will say, though, that Tseng, Garrigus and Hogan all feature or featured initial hand paths that are way more horizontal than those of most professional golfers. And I'd call that "optimal" or at least one kind of "optimal."

Despite the slight difference in camera angles, I still think there's a big difference in hand paths.

I don't think you or Shamblee can conclude there are big changes in handpaths from a camera angle two feet to the left in the video on the left compared to the video on the right, plus the change in elevation of the camera between the two. Get the same camera angles, then compare handpaths and wonder what shots were trying to be played.

I can speculate if I want. I honestly do believe there's been a substantial change. I like "Shamblee," that's an awesome nickname! :)

You have every right to speculate and make your own conclusions, but at least acknowledge the different camera angle's influence on the appearance of more or less changes observed. I don't doubt there has been a change, a half inch could be substantial to ball flight. There is just too much doubt for me as to how much the appearance of a difference is due to those camera angle differences as opposed to the actual handpath changes.

Nice catch on the play of words with Brandel's name. I actually don't mind hearing what he has to say, again just acknowledge some possible sources for the perceived observed change(s) from video.
