in watching the target tournament this past weekend, it seemed to me that tiger was more upright in his swing. i noticed that his hands were very close to his body at address promoting the more upright move. anyone notice this also.

I think he started to make those changes towards the last part of the 2007 PGA Tour season. He has definitely gone away from the original Haney model, in my opinion.
dont think hes gone away entirely from haneys model, but just altered it a bit to what he feels will work, because when he swung his best, imo, he always was quite upright at the top, with much higher hands
The above posters are right. I would say he began to get back to where i personally like to see a backswing and also limited his left arm rotation around bridgestone.
although, that particular video he is hitting a stinger with his 3 wood, so he would probly stand closer to the ball because of that. i do think he is standing closer in general however
