Only a fool would ignore this stuff (unless they're playing so great with their ignorance that they shouldn't be touched - of course, nobody plays that well). The numbers are law. Hit a couple balls on it and you'll figure out very quickly how difficult it is to keep the numbers below 1-2* for path and face angle.
