Tiger Woods. He's the best. This IS his swing, get over it.

Isn't it funny?

The guy is probably the best ever, but if he doesn't fit your model, he "really swings different sometimes," or it is "bad camera angles."

Please.

The guy is the best, and he doesn't put his head in the middle of his stance, and he sure doesn't use it as a tripod. He turns around another "point" and that's the point!

I DON'T think his swing is perfect, I would certainly change a few things if I had my chance.

But, his swing is PERFECT for showing how you can play pretty darn good golf PIVOTING the way I teach.

You can play pretty well with a dead still head as well.

But—I'll go with Tiger's pivot.

So, get over it.

If it is not perfect....

Brian,

What changes would you do, Why would you do it, and what outcome will they have on his shots?

Seems to me that the only way to have a stationary pivoting head is to have a single balance point for your swing, which would be in the middle of your stance. I see Tiger as having two balance points, the inside of the right foot going back, and the left foot going down. Interesting to see the slight overlap of the arms going back and the weight shifting to the left foot. This is the move I'm currently working on. Butch used to make Tiger swing to the top, stop, and then make the downswing. I wonder if this was to make the overlap as small as possible (it looks pretty small now).

Whats awesome about that video is his lower body during the backswing. Everything is so still, its only his hands arms and shoulders moving. They turn his hips but at no point does his body follow the movement, not even an inch

Thus he gets amazing radius and width

Its almost like he's got a wall against his legs .. unbelievable

Puh-lease!

He's the best, period.

And, remember this: 45% (probably more) of the shots that allow him to win have no pivot.

He doesn't need to change squat (win streak), whoever thinks he should is,,,

Ironically, Tiger himself probably thinks he should. This is the same guy that went to work on building a new swing after winning the Masters by 12 strokes.

Another trait of a champion, never being satisfied with current performance, always striving to improve.

people forget that he said he HAD TO CHANGE because that swing was tearing apart his knee

I want to swing like this man! badly! lol! How can I do it? I am still young and have the talent. lol! But then again ive had enough of changeing swings, ive got my swing good at the moment and am shooting high sixties low seventies!

Would it be a good idea to copy his swing?

I think Sergio's Ryder Cup performance shows how a Hoganesque swing might do today (as far as compartive ball striking re: TW).

Overall, I'd say the modern ball is worth 2 strokes/18 holes compared to Hogan's era. Better clubs and course maintenance another 2 strokes....

Which means, scorewise, Hogan, Nelson, and Snead would (theoretically) be capable of posting some hot scores if they were playing in today's enviroment.

Everything today is better. Travel, instruction, video analysis, "golf as a career", etc.

Man of course they would. (be able to post good scores)

I agree 100%.

Familliar question: "Is Tiger Woods the best ball striker you have ever seen?"

Nicklaus: "No, no - Ben Hogan, easily"

And echoed by other legends....

And when Hogan was asked the same question in 1975 he said

"The best ever i saw from tee to green was Bill Mehlhorn"
