Too much hip turn in backswing

Is too much hip turn in the backswing a bad thing? I'm thinking that I turn too much and it makes timing and correct sequencing in the downswing more difficult...for me personally, causing my hips not to be in forward turn fast enough...and then flipping. Thoughts?

No, unless it's a bad thing for YOU.

Since hip turn is part of the kinematic sequence too much or too little of it can throw off the timing of the rest of the sequence. The trick is knowing if your hip turn is a symptom or the root of the problem.

Try turning your right foot so that your toes are pointing more at the ball. This will restrict your hip turn without actually forcing you to restrict it with conscious thought.
