I think everything got off track when brucifer sounded like he was declaring himself "a tgm guy" when he was referring to Brian as "a tgm guy."

To brucifer:

I'm sure that had Brian known you were just an amateur, he wouldn't have read more into your post than he did. I'm not sure if you're familiar with what goes on around here from time to time, but there are a lot of "trolls" that come around here to stir up trouble "in the name of The Golfing Machine." They are very proud of their allegiance to TGM and "other instructors" and try to attack Brian and the rest of the Academy. My guess is that Brian thought you might be one of them, and responded in kind.

Glad to have you around. Brian is right in saying that you will learn quite a lot around here :).

I think those people are just jealous of Brian's talent.

Is this a bad position?

Should you have some angle between left forearm and shaft at impact?

Or is it because he is using the driver that this is acceptable?

But if it was an iron this would not be desirable due to lofts etc?

Are you serious? Look at the player in the picture. Of course it isnt a bad position. It might be for Sergio, though. Trying to get your swing in some "ideal" is really on your way to some endless dark tunnel. I used to love some of Nick Faldo's positions, but they werent for me. You'll drive yourself nuts trying to trace over the original shaft line if you arent wired for it. Nicklaus wouldnt have been Nicklaus if some teacher video'd him to death and tried to get his hands lower at impact.

I know its Jack, but I thought maybe he's a big old in this photo, so maybe not how he always swung.

I thought that this may be ok for woods but maybe not for irons due to not generally striking the ground with woods so no need to allow for lie.

i would like to add to this. in the bottom pic he is not at impact. between where he is in that pic and impact, his hands will follow their path on the arc and start to move inside whilst the clubhead continues to move down and out.

if there was a pic of impact there probably would be some some acc #3 angle at impact.

Good point, I didnt notice this either, clubhead is hiding back in the bush.
