I have always hit the ball low by pretty much anyone's standards and never really understood why. At one time my path was way in to out and I hit big low push hooks. The last couple seasons I have been working on my path a ton and my stock ball flight is now straight to straight fade but still very low across the board wedges, irons, fairway woods, driver.

Nice swing. My two thoughts are ball position could be too far back and club head speed. Hard to tell from slo-mo video. How far is does your normal 7 iron carry?

I have no clue what my swing speed is with my 7 iron, I got fit on trackman last year for my driver and my swing speed was between 103 and 106 on average for the different clubs I tested. In terms of 7 iron carry its 155.

Have you ever been on a respectable launch monitor outdoors? I believe that would solve your "why" very quickly. Effective loft, swing speed, spin, launch angle, angle of attack, etc. would all give the reason why your ball height is what it is. Then you could get much more specific advice on how to alter some of those areas if needed.

thanks for the advice. Never with an iron just for the driver fitting I previously mentioned. Callaway will be out for a demo day May 5th so I will try to get some 6 irons in then since they are bringing trackman.

eoscar,

Have you ever tried swinging left from a more open stance?
or trying a wider stance with your right hand more under the club slightly?

Matt

I play twice a week, often with one of our two scratch players. One guy hits high fades, the other guy (about 5'7") hits low piercing shots on a rope. I am two clubs longer than him, but I would trade for his score 98% of the time. Lower isn't necessary a bad thing.
