True Swinging??

Where's the Golf Partners website? :) There's not anything better for an obsessed golfer than to have a sig. other with the same passion. How many attractive ladies list digging divots as a hobby?

'True' swingers do not need to worry about the clubface, it will align same place every time.

Regardless of grip, etc (ball location is the key).

A true swinger (versus manipulate hands swinger) is only concerned with centrifugal force, not the face, throwout if you will.

You can swing a rope with a clubhead/face - just spin around - and, it willl generally square in the same spot.

Homer felt 'true' swingers were very rare.

2. In the yellow book, when Homer said "manipulated hands swinger" I'm beginning to think he was referring to swingers who use horizontal hinging. I think most natural swingers use angled hinging into impact and then horizontal hinge post impact.

Just some random thoughts.

'Manipulated' hands swinger is merely trying to move the left hand (say impact fix) to a location...........

Versus 'true', which will automatically align the hands (left hand) induced by throwout....

So.....most swingers are manipulated hands swingers, that is, they are trying to align their hands - or - move their hands to a certain 'place'.

Ever since watching Brian's video from the PGA show, I've worked on the idea demonstrated. Very, very soft arms, feet push the power package back with right elbow cocking the left wrist, catch the arms with the pivot and go. I believe it's horizontal hinging (haven't seen video of my swing doing this), but I naturally end up with the left thumb under the shaft and there is no hitting or pushing sensation at all. The keys for me seem to be:

1. Right shoulder downplane to create enough axis tilt.
2. Pivot must drive the arms "left" enough.

The result seems to be a pretty straight shot with the slightest draw- maybe a yard or two with a driver. To play a fade, I have to manipulate my left wrist a little by keeping it arched through impact.

FWIW, it does seem to increase clubhead speed just a bit.
