Trying to make sense of underplane early spinout goat humping and the new release

Wow, this thread illustrates how off my understanding of reverse tumble and underplane are or lacking in ability to spot it on video.

I would have said Senden has more reverse tumble and would never really guess jbrunk would be underplane with that backswing and would need more tumble in his downswing.

I guess I need to go read that Sergio thread again......?

IMO jbrunk isnt underplane and doesnt need more tumble. He's so steep in transition he has to shallow out to get the club on the ball (reverse tumble). Pretty much opposite of Sergio who comes in shallow and has to steepen to get the club on the ball.

Ok, after going back and reading the Sergio thread again and looking at the earlier comments in this thread, I am finally get the relationship between hand path, transition (and laying club off in transition) and tumble described in that thread. I see why people would say jbrunk's hand path would force him to reverse tumble late or back the shaft up, that he might benefit from getting the club deeper and more in, etc.

So with jbrunk's hand path and move to the ball, you'd need to play a fade to make the move work, right? and maybe the quick spin-out on donwswing he is referring to on downswing might be helped by learning to lay it off in transition, get a flatter/more in backswing as that would give him more time in transition...? so does the steepness and direction of handpath from the top cause the quick, spinny transition issue?

I am also understanding better why working on getting my hands deeper, flattening my swing some and laying the club off combined with the releasing from the top is helping me with some swing issues that are similar to jbrunk's.
