Tug/Pitch Elbow

Don't hate on an upright swing, or worse, think it's some sort of flaw.

Not really hating on it. I would personally prefer to be a little flatter than I am but I only get about 80* of shoulder turn causing my hands and arms, and the club to go pretty much vertical when my shoulders stop turning. With the way that I release the club, or dont release the club, how upright I am makes things a little harder IMO.

The disease of American Golf!

Mr. Dean you have wonderful arm flow, for lack of a better term on my part. Very smooth and uninhibited action. Be very careful to not over-analyze a swing by slowing it down to look at it frame by frame. That's a very deep wormhole to get into. You might even find it's bottomless.

Unfortunately, over-analyzing seems to be something I do best. I think the next step for me is to get on trackman and analyze what is really going on. I haven't been in the position to work with a golf instructor for quite some time, and I need to do some searching for a teacher in Florida that uses trackman with instruction. If anyone knows of one, especially a Manzella instructor, please let me know. Or if any Manzella instructors will be in Florida at any point in the next few months please let me know. I have worked with Dr. Jim Suttie in the past. I thought he was great but he didn't teach with trackman in the lessons I have received from him. After reading this forum and realizing that video is not what it was cracked up to be, it seems counter-intuitive to go to an instructor who does not teach with trackman.

Sorry to bring this thread back up, but I have a question related to the pitch elbow and tumbling. I watched Brians back porch video on the Tumble and I am wondering how a player in the pitch elbow position can tumble. In the video he says that the left hand moves in closer to the body in the second half of the downswing. From my pitch elbow position I dont know if I could physically do that. My right elbow is in front of my hip and the handle is moving down the line. Here is a picture of Dustin Johnson, who gets in a similar pitch elbow position. Is he tumbling? To me it seems like it is occuring almost post impact.
