I don't know wht Tgm'ers call it. Maybe shutting it down in the backswing and opening it up in the down, but if i am up 2 strokes and just trying to hold on on the way to the clubhouse, this is my stroke. You may catch me, but I won't fall back. A slight distance loss is overcome by a predictable soft, controllable fade.

In its extreme form, a Palmer move - shut to open hitter.

Jack was more of a floating angled hinge swinger who was 4-barrel more often than not because of his Rhythm (as opposed to all out thrust of Palmer).

I always thought it was interesting that in Golf My Way, Jack talks about closed to open, vs. open to closed, and puts himself in the open to closed camp, despite the hitter's backswing.
