I notice your in ATL.....where do you get the Trackman treatment?

A pro I met bought Trackman, but I believe he has just moved to FLA. Now, I go to the Golf Doctor in Woodstock. I never have done a lesson, but I got fitted for my irons with them. I plan on getting a driver fitting and a golf ball fitting with them in the future.

Brian,

When are you going to get a trackman of your own. If you believe in the product that much don't you think it's worth the intial investment which will obviously be recouped over time and probably in a shorter time scale than you have estimated.

Well...it's as simple as 1,2,3

Brian,

When are you going to get a trackman of your own. If you believe in the product that much don't you think it's worth the intial investment which will obviously be recouped over time and probably in a shorter time scale than you have estimated.

Let's see....

1. Katrina + 11 feet of water + 9 foot ceilings = $150,000 loss

2. Contractor goes belly up on new house + he's a thief = $200,000 loss

3. Trackman is $28,500 + $300 per month for support

Got it?

So that's like 2334 hours of lessons (2334x$150=$350,000), which comes to around 6.5 hours of lessons per day (all 365 days!) for a year. And this doesn't include basic living expenses...

But flightscope is way cheaper, and claims to have lots of data. Hence my question on the previoius page.

Can you please explain, "better club data"?

Club Data:

Plane Line
Plane Angle
Path
Angle of Attack
Clubface
Clubhead Speed

etc.

In other words, what the CLUB IS DOING, as opposed to what the BALL is doing:

Ball Speed
Launch Angle
Spin
Max. height

etc.

I do not think the Flightscope graphics are as terrifc as Trackman but you do get Path
Angle of Attack
Clubface
Clubhead Speed
All the impact variables that are critical to success.

The Big 3

If you don't have Plane Line (Horizontal Swing Plane) and Plane Angle (Vertical Swing Plane) and True Path (Club Path)...

....you ain't got nuthin'

I call it the Big 3.

That's what I was wondering, because on paper the flightscope looks pretty good.

I am curious if it's a lack of technology, or just the software that limits the flightscope. I was under the impression that they are fairly close in radar setup.

If I could tell you exactly the True Path, could you not calculate Plane Line, Plane Angle and Angle of Attack?

In other words: if you know True Path could there be more than one possible Plane Line?

The way I understand it, I see True Path and Clubface as independent, and Plane Line, Plane Angle, and Angle of Attack as something that can be calculated given the True Path.

If you have a true path of 0.0, you can have ten different plane lines to get there.

That's nice.

I asked one of the smartest men in golf what machine gave the best club data, and he didn't blink, or stutter, when he said:

TrackMan.

Probably true but there is a huge cost difference in the two systems. I am going to see if I can get more information on the actual differences in the systems thanks.
