Updates.....

Jerry,

If I owned the book, it would be modernized - 100 % accurate and what Sally Kelley asked for it to be - constantly Updated.

She did?!? Woo-hoo!

Good on Sally.

And Homer.

Of course, this comes as no real surprise...

My feeling is that any good attempt to update it would end up pretty well unrecognisable as TGM.

The most basic (all-encompassing) parts are probably the most important, no?

Off the top of my head, My Attempt At Most Basic:

1. Truth-Seeking.

2. Evolving.

3. Scientific approach. (aside from how Homer actually did with this BTW...ahhh)

4. All-encompassing! An inclusive system, not an exclusive method.

5. I dunno!

(probably decent start anyway...or at least close)

...

Other random parts of the TGM "identity":

-The Machine Concept
-The Computer!! (the name itself is very good)
-Able to be referenced "on the range"? (maybe there could be a short version, at the least)
-I dunno...the book must be yellow?!?

(damn right it should be!! :):):))

And then expand...

Too bad the name is probably tainted though. Homer's legacy? :( At least some people get it I guess.

Even the jargon sucks me in, especially when it starts talking about the blending of the "Feel System" and the "Engineering System" such that, ultimately, the golf swing becomes a "describable whole, both as a mechanism and a sensation."

That just sounds incredibly tasty.....but, unfortunately, it's wrong.

Had to let go of my first crush a long time ago.

That statement is wrong or much of the book is wrong?

I think that statement probably is pretty dang good.

Hell of an analogy with "first crush" btw...!

Didn't know you taught V.

Thx Brian.

I will have to make it a habit to read the whole thread before I "jump in"...

...rather than "just jump in." :D

Read...multi-quote...read...multi-quote...
