Ted Tryba had a good idea on TGC last night:

Start The Tour Championship on a Wednesday (Saturday finish)..........narrow it down to something like 8 guys.......

Sunday............one round of golf (18 holes)..............................$10 MIL DUEL.

Maybe the most watched event in the history of golf.

I agree that the FEDEX should be played in a similar format as the ADT Championship. That nifty little 161 yard 6 iron that LoChoa floated to 30 inches for Birdie was literally worth a million dollars. I love the multiple cut format, and wished more events had that structure. I like seeing people earn their lunch.... None of that cut making, place making, softy silly stuff.

I've never player tournament golf, and never will! The mere fact that you guys shoot the sauce with me here everyday tells me that none of you had success at it. I've never tried, and the rest of you suck at it :D Any tour players in this thread? NO... Enough said!!!

Competing for placement encourages mediocrity.

Any poker players? Wouldn't you love to see golf played in a MTT SNG-like shootout format: Beat the players in your foursome, and move on.

I don't own any LPGA apparel, but I have played with a pink ball. Dudes just hate it when you bust a Creamer 330 yards, and roll your pinky in for birdie.

fed ex cup would be better if the pga tour realized the "playoff" concept doesn't work with golf. same reason why "team golf" doesn't really get US fans excited. playoffs are for sports with regular seasons and singular definitive championships(i.e. super bowl). golf is a collection of individual tournaments and has 4 majors. the "regular season" of golf is qualifying for the majors.

And it must have been even more embarassing for them considering that you were also wearing a miniskirt while you outdrove them with your pink ball.

NO that would be a lottery, especially when the shuffle is rigged....

You'd have players complaining about who they were drawn with, I mean, would you like to be drawn with Mssr Woods, Singh and Nickelson?...:eek:

And sm, I am getting worried about you...I think you smoke too much....:D

I don't watch golf because it is borrrrrring..... The 4-some shootout format would increase TV viewership and bring in more sponsors. I would love to see sudden death OT golf, and guys breaking down and stepping up to the challenge of this format. What would really be a lottery dream is having Woods, Singh, and Mickelson all in the same group!!! Talk about -EV! How about elimination Black Jack-like golf: Where you would have elimination holes after the front nine!!! Even better!
